IPL 2023 Auction date
The window for the 8 existing teams to retain players will be from November 1, 2021 to November 30, 2021.
The 2 new IPL teams will have the opportunity to retain players from December 1, 2021 to December 25, 2021.
Immediately after this retention period, BCCI will organize the IPL 2022 auction in late December or early January 2022.
IPL 2023 retention rules
It is established that a team can keep up to three Indian players (with / without limit) and two foreign players with a total number of catches not exceeding four.
He made it clear that a team cannot have more than two players without a cap.
Depending on the conditions, the team management may retain three Indian players and one foreign player or two Indian players and two foreign players.
Two new IPL teams can choose 2 Indian players and 1 foreign player from the Mega Auctions pool before the start of the 2022 auction.
