Parag made his List A debut for Assam in the 2017-18 Vijay Hazare Trophy, and his first-class debut for the same team in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy. He was a part of the India U-19 team that reached the final of the 2018 U-19 World Cup, where he scored a crucial 23 runs in the semi-final against Pakistan.
