Upendra Diwansingh Yadav, a 27-year-old right-handed batsman and right-arm offbreak bowler, is making his mark in the Indian domestic cricket scene. Primarily a wicketkeeper-batsman, Yadav represents Railways in the first-class arena and has also donned the jerseys of Uttar Pradesh, Rest of India, and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL.
Early Career and Teams:
Yadav’s cricketing journey began with Uttar Pradesh, where he played across all age groups, including the Under-16s. He made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy and his List A debut in the 2017-18 Vijay Hazare Trophy. In 2022, he switched allegiance to Railways. He was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2023 IPL auction.
Impressive Batting and Wicketkeeping Stats:
Yadav boasts a consistent batting record across formats. In first-class cricket, he averages 40.62 with a highest score of 203*. In List A matches, his average stands at 39.03, with a top score of 112. While his T20 batting average is a decent 33.82, his highest score in the format is 70*. As a wicketkeeper, he has impressive figures, with 128 catches and 18 stumpings in first-class cricket, 30 catches and 5 stumpings in List A, and 19 catches and 12 stumpings in T20s.

While his primary strength lies in batting and wicketkeeping, Yadav’s bowling figures are yet to take off. He hasn’t taken any wickets in List A matches and has only limited bowling opportunities in first-class cricket.
