Shimron Hetmyer is a West Indian cricketer who was born on December 26, 1996, in Guyana. He is a left-handed batsman and an occasional left-arm spinner. He made his international debut for the West Indies in 2017 and has since become a regular member of the side.

Hetmyer first made his mark in West Indian cricket in the 2014 Under-19 World Cup, where he was one of the standout performers, scoring 259 runs at an average of 51.80. He made his first-class debut for Guyana in 2014 and his List A debut the following year.
In 2016, he was picked up by the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), where he impressed with his aggressive batting. He was then selected for the West Indies Under-19 squad for their tour of South Africa.
Hetmyer made his international debut for the West Indies in an ODI against New Zealand in December 2017. He scored his maiden ODI century against Bangladesh in July 2018, becoming the youngest West Indian to score a century in an ODI.
He has also played in T20 leagues around the world, including the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he has represented the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Shimron Hetmyer was part of the West Indies team that played in the 2021 T20 World Cup, where he scored 42 runs in three matches.
