Wanindu Hasaranga is a Sri Lankan cricketer who primarily plays as a leg-spin bowler and a lower-order batsman. He was born on July 29, 1997, in Galle, Sri Lanka. He made his international debut for Sri Lanka in 2017, and has since become a key member of the team in all three formats of the game. Hasaranga is also known for his impressive performances in domestic T20 leagues around the world.

Wanindu Hasaranga made his international debut for Sri Lanka in a Twenty20 International (T20I) against Pakistan in September 2017. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut a few months later, in December 2017, and his Test debut in August 2021. Hasaranga has also played for various domestic teams in Sri Lanka, including the Colombo Kings in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) and the Jaffna Kings in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL).
Wanindu Hasaranga has quickly become one of Sri Lanka’s most promising young players, thanks to his impressive all-round skills and ability to take wickets at crucial moments. He has also been a star performer in various T20 leagues around the world, including the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). In the 2021 series against India, he became the first bowler in T20I history to take a four-wicket haul in consecutive matches.
