Career Information
Shubman Gill is an Indian cricketer who plays as a top-order batsman. He made his debut for the Indian cricket team in January 2019, in an ODI against New Zealand. He is also a regular player for the Punjab cricket team in domestic cricket.
Domestic Career
Gill made his debut for Punjab in the 2017-18 season of the Ranji Trophy. He has since been a regular player for the team in all formats of domestic cricket. He has also played for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and was a part of their squad that reached the playoffs in the 2020 season.
International Career
Gill made his international debut for India in January 2019, in an ODI against New Zealand. He has since played in both ODIs and Tests for India. He was a part of India’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup, and played in the semi-final against New Zealand.
News
In March 2021, Shubman Gill was named as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year for the 2020 season. He was also named as the ICC Emerging Player of the Year for 2020.

Records
- Shubman Gill scored 351 runs in the 2018 ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup, including a century in the final against Australia. He was named as the Player of the Tournament.
- He became the fourth-youngest Indian batsman to score a first-class double century, when he scored an unbeaten 268 for Punjab against Tamil Nadu in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy.
